Setting A Simple Fall Harvest Table – Welcome November

It’s November. It’s NOVEMBER!!! That means cozy dinner parties with friends, wool blankets, fires… etc. etc. My style is pretty simple. I am all for fancy floral arrangements and flatware, but let’s get real. That’s not always in the budget… especially for last minute dinner get-togethers! Let’s just keep it simple folks! I foraged some yellow leaves from the yard… (that are FINALLY yellow… in the first week of our San Diego November) and some berries. And let’s not forget the pumpkins that are still in the game even after Halloween has come and gone! 🙂

Get creative! Use stuff from your yard… keep some scissors in your car and forage on the side of the road! ( I’ve totally done this…) Anything weed-like is fair game… and often times beautiful (and free) HA!

It doesn’t have to be fancy to be beautiful.

Just FYI… I picked up this gold flatware at Target for $20 for a set of 5… Not too shabby! I know I will be using it ALL. THE. TIME. Especially around the holidays.

Tips for setting the perfect “not so fancy” table:

Mix + Match… Get Creative

Round up things around your home that go with your theme… Mason jars always make my list, then pitchers, vases, little knick knacks and serving trays… mix and match and spread the love across the entire table! Use what you have in your yard instead of store bought flowers. The simplicity is charming.

Create a Focal Point

Draw the eye to the center. In this tablescape, I put the tallest leaves and vases in the center with the pumpkins, working my way out. Creating a focal point creates balance and symmetry

Fill It Up!

For extra drama, fill the white space! Leaves, branches, coasters, placemats, etc… the more the merrier in my book.
