scenes from the weekend // family affair

First, I want to say how much I am in love with my family. I look forward so much my parents coming to visit… it feels like a little mini vacation even for me! Mom and Dad, thank you for being amazing. We love you so much. And thank you for feeding me every meal for the past 3 days. 😉 I have the best Mom and Dad around!
Just a few tid-bits about the pics.
1// If you are looking for the best gelato in town… Capo is the REAL DEAL. If you are around, you should try it.
2// Picnic at Gardner Village. Mom insisted we wear the witch hats. I am in all when it comes to dressing up… Clay, not so much.
3// The Little America lobby isn’t such a bad place to hang out! 🙂 The grand staircase, unlimited hot chocolate in the winter, and the fireplace is so cozy… I think we will be spending a few nights here this winter. No, not sleeping here. Just relaxing in the lobby. This is what young couples, in love, and with no money do.
4// The HoHo pants, gray sweater and ugg boots outfit happened. At Dan’s, the local grocer. I am sorry world.
5// Dad can whip up the BEST roast, mashed potatoes and gravy on any given day! Lucky for us, we have some for the rest of the week!
6// My sister Erin was here but have no pictures to prove it! But it was so good speed shopping and talking with you for a few minutes!!
Best weekend ever! Love you family!

A pint of gelato for $12.50. I’ll take two! Looks so yummy! Wish I could’ve seen you more this weekend! After this weekend, I feel like I belong in SLC and we need to move there. Now, convincing everyone else…… hmmmm…. And you are right about having the best parents. We are very lucky! And…. I LOVE the Little America lobby too!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stayed there so many times on drill team trips in HS. Sad we missed the roast dinner too.

Now I wish I had hung out in the Little America lobby and had the free hot chocolate. I didn’t even know how cool it was until now. Did you really wear your high school Christmas Ho Ho Ho flannels to the grocery store? Funny. Dad and I love being with our kids wherever they are. This weekend was so much fun!! We’ll be back in December, and staying at Little America. I’ll get a second chance to sit by the fire and sip hot chocolate.

That really is quite a bowl of mashed potatoes. Presentation is everything, don’t you think?

I almost didn’t want to post this picture because of the ugly mashed potatoes bowl. Isn’t that silly? The picture was too cute not to.

It’s June 2013 and I just saw the family fun pics! Oh, I do love seeing you all having fun together. I wish you and Seth were still teens and would come to SC again to see me. I remember the big meal and your fun shopping trip for back to school clothes…I love your mom, you know that…we painted Charileston, SC for a few days, so fun.
Love your work, you creative angel!
