etsy love: tala stone

One of my guily pleasures these days browsing the pages of etsy, a platform for handicrafters and do it yourselfers alike to showcase and sell their works of art. I usually start off by searching for something like “geometric pattern pillows”, “tiny gold necklace”, or maybe “handpainted bowl”… then I see where etsy takes me from there. (Usually it’s a magical place full of inspiration and many “I can totally make that” moments.) I stumbled upon Tala Stone the other day and was pleasantly surprised to find so many unique pieces that really spoke to me. The shark tooth on the top right was yelling the loudest… even after I had left the page I could still hear it. So I went back and bought it.  It seems appropriate that I should own this necklaces as sharks are probably my biggest fear out of all fears that ever existed. So I will wear it’s tooth around my neck to show other sharks how tough I am when they come around… there’s no way they would mess with me after seeing that.

Anyway, check out Tala Stone… she does amazing work and I applaud her for her unique-ness. I am so excited to be receiving my shark tooth in the mail very soon!

I think you should send this etsy seller a link to this post! And funny because my biggest fear is sharks too…. we must be sisters. How do you let Clay surf? And how is he not scared of sharks? I love your blog so much. The world is going to catch on. I love that necklace in the top left. Maybe if I hear it screaming at me later, I will buy it.

    • Haha funny… I totally did that! I had been writing her back and forth about the necklace I bought. She is a sweetheart. This is what she said: “Hi Lauren! You are AMAZING. Thank you so much! I was just looking through your blog and absolutely love everything about it and you. You rock. Hope your day is filled with beauty and laughter …”

They yell pretty loud… beware! It would be a lovely addition to your new wardrobe 🙂

I absolutely love the torquoise top left. I’ll check it out to see if it’s real torquoise stone. Those colors are really in right now and the style is whimsical and delicate. Are you surfing with Clay these days? Yikes.

CUTE! I love a shark’s tooth necklace. And I am terrified of sharks, I always imagine them eye-ing my little kicking legs from down below whenever I’m in the ocean. What has happened to us!? Bahaha.

Oh, I just noticed the post title– Land of Milk and Honeymoons. I’m a little slow. Clever. You have some great photos. I can’t wait to see all of them. The only two shots I have of our honeymoon is dad and me (for some reason I’m wearing in his football jersey–#81) standing on the shore of Lake Powell. The other one is of us having a picnic in Zion. I had a polka-dot scarf tied around my head. i remember grabbing that in desperation because you can’t put curlers in your hair on the first day of your honeymoon and my hair looked awful. Your photos will bring you pleasure for the rest of your lives, just like my two have.

Oops. I wrote the above in the wrong spot. Anyway, I wanted to say that I need the earrings to go with the torquoise necklace. I guess you could just wear a gold pair of some sort.
